Lake Dyer, 2012

Click to start slideshow This was the second time the Lockyer Powerfest has been held at the picturesque Lake Dyer, which is located just out of Laidley in the Lockyer valley. It is organised as a joint venture between the Australian Power Boat Association and the Queensland Division of the Australian Street Rod Federation.

The Powerfest drew a fair size crowd, a large and diverse car display, and some trade stands. The return of the usual Queensland winter weather was very well received, especially after the rainy Cooly Rocks, which was on only a couple of weeks earlier.

There was a good variety of very fast powerboats, which kept all the spectators entertained for most of the day. There were also some festivities held the previous night in the main street of Laidley.

All the photos were taken by Kyren O'Loan, who also penned the text above.
